It all started when…
Sacred Heart was one of the two original city parishes which led to the initiation of the Diocese of El Paso. Since its founding, it has served the low-income immigrant community of the Segundo Barrio as well as the faithful from Ciudad Juarez and all of El Paso. For several decades, the Jesuit priests from Sacred Heart served as missionaries in West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Chihuahua, Mexico. Presently, it is a vibrant parish in the heart of the Barrio and has continuously been staffed by Jesuit Priests.
